Saturday 3 November Coxswain Bill Kessler led his Crew from Flotilla 6-1 on a chilly Ohio River Aids to

Navigation Patrol.. The crew Loren Gannon of Centerville; Eugene Knight, Beavercreek; Loren Schafer, Dayton and Tim Welch, Kettering rotated duties during the exercise for training. Two inoperative lights, one new private light and one missing buoy will be reported to the Coast Guard Marine Safety Division at Cincinnati.

The facility (Dayton boat) was part of a three boat Auxiliary Division Six squadron organized by Patrol Commander FC 6-10 Bob Clancy, Georgetown. Bob used a shore mobile radio facility to coordinate activities. Facilities launched at White Oak Creek Marina, Higginsport, checking Aids to Navigation up river to Manchester during daylight.  Sixteen Auxiliarists dined together then made a night run down stream to check lighted Aids to Navigation.   The other patrol boats represented  Flotilla 6-8 Indian Lake, Coxswain Ed Holliday Springfield and Flotilla 6-10;  Charlie Everhart's facility, Bainbridge, facility; Coxswain LaRue Turner,   Each boat had a crew of five, men and women Auxiliary volunteers.  Trailer loading and a long haul home ended another day of public service for cold, weary Auxiliary boat crews.
